posted ‎‎Oct 14, 2009 11:32 AM‎‎ by Sophia Ancer

If your Demy is asleep, touch the LCD screen or press the power button for a response (hold down the button in the back for 3 seconds, until it beeps).  You can also adjust the time on the sleep setting so that the Demy does not go to sleep while you are using it.

If you've already installed the appropriate software and synced the Demy once before, but the Demy icon isn't showing up on your desktop, make sure the syncing application is open so that you can download more recipes from Key Ingredient to your Demy.

Removing the Protective Film from Your Demy

If you're noticing that the touch function on your Demy isn't responding, check to see if "factory installed protective film" has been removed.  Leaving it on can cause the function to behave erratically, since it wasn't made to be used with the Demy.

However, the screen protective film we sell in our shop was custom made for the Demy's touch screen.

You can purchase that item by visiting the following site:

"Jigsawing" Images on Demy

If you scroll quickly and choose a command more than once, before the Demy has a chance to respond, the photos might appear distorted for a second.  It's best to select an option on the touchscreen once and wait a second for the Demy to respond to your request.

Resetting Demy for Windows Installation

posted ‎‎May 15, 2009 11:28 AM‎‎ by Sophia Ancer

Sometimes you need to "reset" your demy if windows
can't find it.  When the unit is on, press the power button for 3
seconds until it beeps, then release.  The screen should have gone
dark.  Now press the power button again (it will beep and start
loading up).  After it's fully loaded try to plug it in again to your
computer.

We are planning to add that functionality very soon.  Your current sync app will notify you when it's ready.

Can't Find Demy (Windows XP)

posted ‎‎May 11, 2009 8:37 AM‎‎ by Jesse Lovelace   [ updated ‎‎May 11, 2009 2:55 PM‎‎ ]

Problem description:

After installing the Key Ingredient Demy software, the Key Ingredient application cannot find the Demy.

Resolution:
  1. Open the "Control Panel" by clicking the "Start" menu at the bottom left corner of your screen and selecting "Control Panel".
  2. We recommend clicking on the item labeled "Switch to Classic View" on the left column.
  3. Double click on the "System" icon.
  4. Click the tab labeled "Hardware", then click the button labeled "Device Manager".
  5. Under the item called "Ports (COM & LPT)" check for any items that have an exclamation mark or question mark.  If one does, double-click on it and select "Reinstall Driver."  Allow Windows to search for the driver and reinstall it.
